Content Disclaimer

On this website and in my social media accounts, I provide information about parenting and parenthood. I believe that all families are emotional systems and the most effective way to bring change in another member's behaviour is through shifting your own responses. I hold the view that you are the best person to parent your child, what you learn and know matters most, and you have everything it takes to make family life go well. This content is provided solely for your education to help you navigate the challenges you face in your family, build a good relationship with your child, and feel more pleased and confident in yourself as a parent. I want you to enjoy parenthood.

Content Policy

I conduct extensive research in order to provide content that I believe to be valuable and true but I have no responsibility for the use that you make of that information.

It is important that you understand that generalised information about parenting issues and parenthood is never a substitute for professional guidance tailored to your specific circumstances.

There is no professional relationship formed by your visit to my website unless you explicitly choose to work with me by purchasing my services or products.

Any testimonials or results I may display on this website are based on my experience and those of my previous clients. They are not guarantees that anyone else will achieve the same results.

While I take all reasonable care to ensure that the content I create is accurate, relevant and up to date, I make no guarantees and disclaim any legal liability for inaccuracy, incompleteness or error. If you find something that seems problematic, it would be very helpful if you let me know!

I may modify my content at any time, including altering or deleting it without notice.

Do not act on anything you read without first conducting your own research, consulting appropriately qualified professionals, and making informed choices about what is right for you, based on your personal circumstances.

It really should go without saying, but as a user of my website, you agree not to behave maliciously, spam any other user, post defamatory content about anyone, infect any aspect of my website with malware, hack into any part of my website where you don’t have my permission to be, or use my website for any purpose other than consuming my content, engaging in my programs, and purchasing my products or services. You also agree not to use my website or content in any way that is unlawful or harmful to any other person or business. If you do, I have the right to refuse you service and ban you from accessing my website or social media.

My intention in offering these services and products is to support you with your parenting challenges, make family life go more smoothly, as well as help you be a calmer, more confident parent who enjoys parenthood and your children more.

Working with me

I believe it is my responsibility to practise within the scope of my training, qualifications and professional memberships.

All sessions are confidential for you to safely explore your parenting challenges and deepen your family relationships.

I regularly attend ongoing professional development which keeps me up to date with the latest best practise and deepens my expertise.

I also undertake regular professional supervision which means I'm not doing this work alone - I get support for the work that I do.

What I Expect from You

Important information about how to get the most value out of working with me is set out below. If you have any questions or concerns, please email me before proceeding with your purchase.

Important Information

Helping your child to stop their challenging behaviours and become easier going takes time. Bringing lasting change depends on many factors including: how long the difficult patterns have been present, your willingness to make changes in your parenting and family dynamics, as well as what is happening around you in your village*.  I do not offer quick fixes or changes that are at the expense of the parent-child relationship long term. Working this way takes effort from you but is well worth it - you will get to know yourself better, feel more confident in your parenting and closer to your child. I offer strategies, insights and support but not a magic wand. You will need to take action.

How to Stop Losing it Soothing Audio & accompanying pdf - this free guide gives you an overview of what it takes to stop losing it with your kids. There are emergency strategies that you can implement, plus guidance on how to do the longer term emotional work to tame your triggers. It is an introductory guide to help you start interrupting your current patterns. You may need additional support to bring lasting change

Ebook Play Your Way to Peace - this beautifully illustrated guide with accompanying pdf gives you a selection of my favourite playful parenting games to navigate everyday challenges. Be sure to follow the "How to Play" section guidelines. In particular, please note that if you use these games with too much of an agenda of wanting your child to behave in a certain way, they are unlikely to work.

Complimentary Chat - I might invite you to meet with me for a 20-minute complimentary chat. This is an opportunity for you to meet me, ask more about my services and for me to learn about your challenges. This allows both of us to see if I’m the best person to support you. Please note this is not a free consultation.

The Parent Compass Sessions™ - to get the most out of these sessions you'll need to share with me about your family history, and be open about the challenges you currently face. In the first session we will establish your request for the sessions - what you are hoping to get out of them. In order to bring lasting change to your family, you will need to take action on the strategies and directions I offer you. We will use the feedback from your interventions as feedback to use going forwards. As such the sessions are collaborative with you trying out new things, sharing how it went, celebrating your wins and together making further tweaks. Because it's impossible to change someone else, unless you frighten them into changing which we don't want to do to your child, much of the focus will be on what you can do differently to invite change in a way that builds a healthy relationship with your child.

One-on-one consultations - At each session I will ask you what your request is so I am clear as to how I can help you best. You can use these sessions for Listening Time, updating me on how things are going, working on how to address current challenges as well as celebrating your successes.

Voice & Message Support - this service gives you the opportunity to connect with me in between sessions with voice and/or text messages via WhatsApp or Signal. I will get back to you within 48-hours Monday to Friday, and usually much quicker. It’s important that you let me know the kind of support you want from me: if you want advice or supportive listening.

Risks

Because we often need to understand what triggers you and what gets in the way of being the parent you want to be - you may end up doing deep emotional work. It is up to you to let me know if you don't want to go there.

It's important for me to understand the bigger picture that might be affecting your child's behaviour like addictions in the family, friction between parents, tension with relatives, medications, work/financial stresses etc. Without this information, I am limited in how I can support you.

Limitations

I am not a psychologist or medical professional and my work does not treat or diagnose any mental health issues or assess neurodevelopmental disorders. I am always happy to work collaboratively as part of your family support system.

Professional Advice

If any concerns arise during our work together, I strongly recommend you seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

Suitability

You will get the most out of working with me if you are a parent with a child under 13 years of age and are willing to spend time with your child to bring change. If your child is a teenager or older, please contact me first to discuss whether I am the best person to support you.

Indemnity

I do not make any guarantees or warranties about the accuracy of any material displayed on this website, or the products, services, or programs offered through it, except for any non-excludable consumer guarantees and other consumer protection provisions set out in the Australian Consumer Law. I am human and errors creep in despite the best of intentions. If you see something that doesn’t seem right, please let me know.

While I make all reasonable efforts to ensure that this website and my services and products meet with the highest standards of best practice, if something does go wrong that is not a direct result of my negligence, misrepresentation or deliberate fault, you agree that, to the fullest extent permitted by law, I will not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of or related to my website, any products or services purchased through it, or any material posted on it, irrespective of whether such damages were foreseeable, and regardless of the nature of the claim.

You take full responsibility for your implementation of any suggestions that I may make while providing my services. You understand that [my/our] advice is limited to providing you with options for your consideration, and that you are solely responsible for any actions that you choose to take. Always consult your own values and vision, do your own research, and check with appropriately qualified professionals before making major decisions or making significant changes. You agree to indemnify me against all consequences arising directly or indirectly from your choices.

You expressly agree that if this indemnity is unenforceable for any reason, my total cumulative liability for all causes of action of any kind (other than negligence) shall not exceed the amount that you have paid to me.

Payment Terms

All prices on my website are in Australian dollars and are not subject to GST.

All payments made through this website are processed using Stripe. If you prefer to pay by EFT deposit to my bank account, please contact me.

I do not have access to your account details. Any financial information you enter is stored under Stripe’s security policy: https://stripe.com/docs/security/stripe

All services are paid in full in advance.

If I send you an invoice, payment is due within 5-days of the date on the invoice. You will receive reminders before and on the due date.  If I have not received payment, I will send you a reminder 3-days later. I will continue to send weekly reminders after that until payment is received. After the due date, an administrative fee of $29.00 will be added to the total amount due for every reminder sent. This is because having to hassle you for my payment is not pleasant or fair to me. If there is a problem with payment, please contact me as soon as possible to make alternative arrangements and avoid incurring this administrative fee. If an invoice is more than 30-days overdue, you agree to pay all costs, including debt collection agency fees and solicitor’s costs, that I may incur in taking steps to recover any money that you owe to me, whether or not legal proceedings are issued in relation to the debt. Where payment is for packages I reserve the right to cancel booked sessions until full payment is received. This is because I offer a generous discount on packages in recognition of the fact they are up front payments.

I do not currently offer payment plans.

Refund Policy

For digital products (pdf guides, audio guides, online courses) I do not offer a refund if you change your mind, so you are encouraged to consider carefully whether a purchase is right for you before you make your payment

I offer a full refund, minus administration fee, if you change your mind after purchasing group sessions or one-on-one sessions with me as long as this is more than 24-hours of the first scheduled session. Please note the administrative fee is $50 for processing your refund.

Cancellation of packages will be refunded by: deducting the full price of a Standalone Session for each session in a package that has happened, from the total package fee, and an administration fee will be charged. The administrative fee is $50 for processing your refund.

Appointment Policies

Please provide at least 24-hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows me to help someone else in the time that has been reserved for you. If you provide me with less than 24-hours notice or fail to turn up, you will forfeit your payment for the session. If you are prevented from attending our session due to an emergency beyond your control, please contact me as soon as possible to let me know. I may agree to reschedule at my sole discretion in exchange for a discounted administrative fee of $29.

For online sessions, you need to be set up in a private, quiet area. A café or public space is not suitable. You will need to focus so please reschedule if you are going to be driving or supervising young children.

Minor Problem

All sorts of things can go wrong when purchasing documents or courses online. If you have a problem, let me know asap, and I will do my best to fix it as quickly as I can. I will offer a full refund for any physical or technical problems or errors which cannot be resolved to our mutual satisfaction within 48 hours of your purchase. If you have an issue with a service I have provided, please contact me immediately at the above email address to discuss the issue.

Major Problem

A major problem is one which cannot be fixed or is too difficult to fix within a reasonable time. It is something that would have prevented you purchasing the product or service if you had known about it in advance. When there is a major problem, you have the right to choose whether you would prefer to:

  • Cancel your purchase and receive a refund: if you would like to receive a refund due to a major problem, you must contact me within 48 hours of downloading the product, gaining access to the content or receiving the service. Please make sure that you clearly explain the issue that you have experienced and why you believe it to be a major problem. If I agree that there is a major problem and that I am unable to fix the issue for you, I will process your refund within 21 days.

  • Seek compensation for the difference between the price paid and the value of the product or services actually provided: if you discover a major problem and wish to cancel your purchase after 48 hours, you must tell me as soon as you become aware of the issue. I will negotiate with you in good faith to determine whether you are entitled to a refund based on the nature of the problem, the time since purchase and what is reasonable and fair to us both under the circumstances.

Consumer Guarantees

I take my obligations under Australian Consumer Law seriously and will do my best to address any issues that arise. However, even if there is a major problem, my liability is strictly limited to:

  • replacing the goods or providing the services again; or

  • if I am unable to do so within a reasonable time, refunding you the full amount that you paid to me.
